Religion in brief | New pastor named to Calvary UM Church

Windber Calvary UM

The Rev. John Snyder will deliver the message “Spirit of Gentleness,” based on Galatian 6:1-16, during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Windber Calvary United Methodist Church, 1800 Stockholm Ave.

Snyder will speak on “Life and Death,” from Mark 8:27-38, during the 7 p.m. service.

Zion Lutheran

Liturgy of Holy Communion will be celebrated during the 9 a.m. Sunday service at Zion Lutheran Church, 613 Locust St., downtown Johnstown, with Gospel reading from Luke 10:1-11 and 16-20.

A midweek Liturgy of Holy Communion will be celebrated at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
