Mr. and Mrs. John Schnabel of Davidsville have noted their 40th wedding anniversary with a dinner given by their children at Anthony's Restaurant, Geistown Borough.

Mr. Schnabel and the former Lorraine Smolko were married July 24, 1965, at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, Spangler, by the Rev. Alcuin Tasch, OSB.

Mr. Schnabel was born in Spangler, son of George and Catherine Schnabel.

Mrs. Schnabel was born in Colver, daughter of John and Elizabeth Smolko.

Mr. Schnabel worked for Bethlehem Coke Plant and Plant Engineering and Republic Technical Engineering.

He is an Air Force veteran and a member of Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Schnabel enjoys hunting and que trap and skeet shooting.

Mrs. Schnabel is a cosmetologist, with her cosmetologist Teacher's license, and is owner and operator of Lorraine's Beauty Salon. She enjoys bowling and family activities.

The Schnabels enjoy golfing, card games, square dancing and traveling and are members of St. Anne's Roman Catholic Church, where Mrs. Schabel is a Eucharistic minister.

They are members of the Elks Bridge Association.

They are the parents of three children: Laurie, wife of Robert Adams, Greensburg; John, Denver, Colo.; and Michelle, married to Wesley Horner, Pittsburgh.

There are two grandsons, Michael and David Adams.
