HIGH SCHOOL BOYS

Bishop Carroll 55, Windber 39

EBENSBURG – Behind 18 points from Jackie Moschgat and 17 points by Luke Paronish, Bishop Carroll dealt Windber a loss in a non-conference clash on Monday.

The Huskies held a 34-12 lead at halftime.

Cameron Ursino’s 17 points led the Ramblers, who also received 10 points from Blake Henger.

Meyersdale 65, Johnstown Christian 30

MEYERSDALE – A 23-0 first-quarter edge gave Meyersdale the boost it needed to top Johnstown Christian.

Detrick Peterman scored 24 points to lead the Red Raiders, and teammate Tyler Sechler added 20 points.

Jake Tuck’s 13 points led the Blue Jays.

Bishop McCort 57, Westmont 50

The Crimson Crushers outscored host Westmont 9-2 in the second overtime to take home a hotly contested victory.

Jack Schrey had 16 points to lead Bishop McCort, which received 12 points from Bill Dill and 10 from Mason DelRosario.

Mike Valcheff led the Hilltoppers with 15 points and teammate Josh Swick added a dozen points.

Westmont forced overtime as Chris Kessler hit three free throws with less than five seconds remaining in regulation to tie it at 44.

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS

Conemaugh Township 52, Rockwood 23

DAVIDSVILLE – Freshman Kate Reckner scored 15 points to lead the Indians, while Julie Byer and Annie Bridge had 10 points each.

The second half featured a running clock.

Conemaugh Valley 67, Salisbury-Elk Lick 14

Taylor Gruss and Nikki Ledwich each had 13 points as host Conemaugh Valley pounded Salisbury-Elk Lick.

Ledwich also had six boards and five steals for the Blue Jays, who received 12 points from Darla Pollino.

Lynsey Kauffman’s six points paced the Elks.

Meyersdale 45, Johnstown Christian 26

MEYERSDALE – Katie Vena scored 19 points and Courtney Hersch added 15 as Meyersdale (2-1) rolled past Johnstown Christian School.

Janna Kaufman led the Blue Jays (2-1) with nine points.

Portage 64, Turkeyfoot Valley 42

PORTAGE – Becca Enedy scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Portage pasted Turkeyfoot Valley.

Arielle Crum added a dozen points and Kayla Randall scored 10 for the Mustangs (1-4).

Kami Kocheck led the Rams (0-3) with 11 points.

Central Cambria 68, Richland 33

Ali Maruca’s 21 points led the Red Devils, who also got 10 each from Ashley Kenny, Breanne James and Emily Wright in the win on the road.

State College 64, Bishop McCort 38

STATE COLLEGE – The Little Lions’ Chrissy Cooper scored 30 points and Natalie Torretti added 10 in State College’s win over Bishop McCort.

Cooper connected on seven of State College’s nine 3-pointers.

Maria Felton tallied nine points to top the Crimson Crushers.

Windber 72, Berlin 51

WINDBER – Jen Rasko’s 26 points led the Ramblers as Sarah Berkey scored 16 and Courtney Petrunak added a dozen.

Rasko and Berkey each had seven assists and five steals for the Ramblers, who sank 14 of 15 foul shots in the second half.

Brooke Snyder and Jackie Kimmel led the Mountaineers with 19 points each.

Ferndale 55, Shade 42

Brittany Eisenhuth’s 31 points and 12 rebounds powered the homestanding Yellow Jackets to victory over Shade in WestPAC action.

Jillian Kegg added six assists for Ferndale.

The Panthers’ Casey Roberts scored 18 points.

North Star 41, Shanksville 12

BOSWELL – North Star jumped out to a 31-3 lead in the first half and cruised past Shanksville-Stonycreek.

Eleven different players scored for the Cougars (4-0) who were paced by Sarah Pelesky’s nine points.

Emily Lohr added eight.
