Donna Rogers Decorations

Donna Rogers of Windber has hung this simple knitted Christmas stocking ornament on her Christmas tree since 1980. “In October of that year, my family and I were in a car accident and I sustained a broken hip,” Rogers said. “I was eight months pregnant with my third child. My son, Christopher, was born Dec. 6 and because of some complications, he had to be in the neonatal intensive care unit for several days. Since it was so close to Christmas, he was given the knitted ornament by the nursing staff. It has been on my Christmas tree every year since then to remind me how God can bring us through difficult times.”
