JOHNSTOWN — Hundreds of people, along with Santa Claus, attended the third annual Trojan Family Christmas on Thursday evening at Greater Johnstown High School.

In addition to the visit by Santa, the event included a spaghetti dinner and various activities such as crafts.

The event was held by the Key Club and supported by the school district plus numerous facets of the community.

Crystal Rose, who brought her son, Teyvon, 10, said the organizers did a great job.

“It’s family togetherness for the holidays,” she said about what the event provides.

John Farrior, who was there with his daughter, Sarina, 8, said plenty of activities were available for the children.

“It’s just the camaraderie,” he said about why he enjoyed the event.

Cindy Maloy, a Key Club adviser, said the event is held to provide children with a merry Christmas and a chance to participate in a community event.

Luigina Magistro, another Key Club adviser, said the children and the organizers enjoy the Christmas spirit created by the event.

“Every year our students step up and create an event that is so much bigger and better than the year before,” she said.
