LEWIS RUN —
A northwestern Pennsylvania man wanted on rape and incest charges has apparently shot himself as state police were closing in on his vehicle with an arrest warrant.
McKean County District Attorney Ray Learn says he’s waiting for the coroner to confirm the man’s identity, but believes he’s the person sought by Foster Township police on the sex charges.
The Bradford Era reports the 36-year-old man shot himself about 9:30 p.m. Monday as state police approached the convenience store parking lot where he had parked. The newspaper says a note written in the dust on the back of the vehicle said “I love you all. I am sorry” and then identified two female relatives saying they “can now be free, the demon is dead.”
The man had been reported missing since Saturday and police charged him Monday.
