JOHNSTOWN — One man was killed and another injured in an early morning shooting Sunday on the 700 block of Grove Avenue in the Moxham neighborhood of Johnstown.

The man, in his early 20s, was found dead inside the double house, said Cambria County Chief Deputy Coroner Jeffrey Lees.

Lees said he pronounced the victim dead at the scene at 7:28 a.m. The victim received multiple gunshot wounds, he said.

The man’s name was not being released until his next of kin have been notified, he said.

The other man was taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center with an apparent gunshot wound, he said. His name and condition were not available.

Police and the coroner’s office said they are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The state police mobile crime laboratory from Greensburg was at the scene to assist the Johnstown police and the coroner’s office with the investigation, Lees said.

An autopsy on the victim was being conducted late Sunday afternoon, he said.

The shooting was reported at 6 a.m.
