The Dodge Caravan allegedly used by two men in a Johnstown murder was located two weeks later in Pittsburgh, an Allegheny County detective testified Friday.
Prosecutors allege that 30-year-old Marquis “G” Neal and 29-year-old Anthony “Mack” Harvey used the van to get to the Oakhurst Homes housing project on Oct. 1, 2011, where J-Quan “Scar” Lewis was shot and killed around 2 p.m.
Neal, the alleged shooter, was seen by witnesses jumping into the van and being driven from the scene with Harvey at the wheel.
The Cambria County trial is being held at the Johnstown Court Room in the Central Park Complex.
The locked van was found parked Oct. 13, 2011, in Pittsburgh’s Hill District by Detective Daniel Soroczak. On the van were six parking tickets dated from Oct. 3, 2011, through Oct. 13, 2011, he said.
In testimony earlier this week, Lisa Carothers of Johnstown, the van’s owner, testified that she had last seen the van the day Lewis was killed. She said that Harvey, who was then her boyfriend, had taken the van to go to the grocery store for her, but had never returned.
The trial is continuing Friday afternoon.
