2 wounded in Johnstown shootings

JOHNSTOWN — Johnstown police are looking for the person or persons responsible for shooting two men at the same time and in the same neighborhood early Saturday afternoon.

Sgt. Thomas Owens, a city police detective, said the men were taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center by ambulance with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

One was admitted in stable condition and the other was treated and discharged, he said.

The shootings were reported at 12:20 p.m. on Fronheiser Street near Messenger Street in the city’s Hornerstown neighborhood.

The names of the victims, who police believe were living in Johnstown, were not being released Saturday.

At this point, police are investigating the circumstances, Owens said Saturday evening.

”We’ve interviewed multiple people in the area, and we are trying to piece together what happened,” Owens said.
