Heroin suspect waives hearing

JOHNSTOWN — A Johnstown man who police said was in possession of $50,000 in heroin will answer drug charges in Cambria County court.

Eric Joel Westover, 27, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Thursday before District Judge Michael Musulin of Johnstown.

City police, agents from the state Attorney General’s Office and members of the Cambria County Special Emergency Response Team seized about 4,350 stamp bags of heroin when they raided a home in the 600 block of Iolite Avenue in December. They also recovered two loaded handguns and $2,000 in cash.
