SOMERSET — A Friedens area woman and a passenger were charged with stealing a truck and then leading police on an alcohol-related chase through the county Friday.

State police said Nicole Gamble, 26, the driver, and Rodger Haney, no age given, were fleeing in the vehicle with a firearm in their possession, but eventually pulled over after a multimile chase that started on Route 281.

Gamble was under the influence of alcohol, police said.

Both were arraigned before District Judge Douglas Bell on charges that they carried a firearm despite a felony conviction, vehicle theft and criminal conspiracy, among other counts.
