Sentencings this week in Cambria County court include the following:
• Daniel Kenneth Markel was sentenced by Cambria County Judge Patrick Kiniry to 24 months’ probation and ordered to have no contact with a woman who claimed he assaulted her.
The victim claimed Markel, 24, of the 100 block of Logan Boulevard, Altoona, sexually assaulted her in February in the area of the Lemon House of the Allegheny Portage National site on old Route 22, Cresson Township.
In July he pleaded no contest to charges of terroristic threats and obstruction of administration of law. Rape and related charges were withdrawn by the prosecution.
• Fernando G. Ramos, 32, of the 1200 block of Kegg Avenue, Johnstown, was sentenced by Kiniry to 24 months’ probation and ordered to not carry weapons.
Formerly of the 800 block of Franklin Street, Ramos in March fired a gunshot into a parking lot. Police said after the shooting, Ramos stashed the .380 Ruger inside a Lorain Borough bar.
In late July he entered a guilty plea to tampering with or fabricating evidence.
• William Clinemyer, of the 200 block of Park Road, Lilly, was sentenced by Kiniry to six to 23 months in Cambria County Prison and ordered to make $4,437 in restitution to a Cresson woman.
Charged with theft and receiving stolen property, Clinemyer, whose prison sentence will begin Oct. 14, entered a guilty plea two months ago to theft by unlawful taking.
Police say Clinemyer, 30, stole a ring from a woman’s vehicle in the 700 block of Front Street in August 2011.
He then hocked it for $184, authorities said.
