Calling all wine and beer lovers.
The West Hills Community Team will hold its inaugural Night of Community Spirits from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at the former Johnstown Brewing Co., 942 Pinegrove Lane, just off Menoher Boulevard.
The event will feature a presentation of wine tastings by B&L Wine Cellars of Johnstown and beer tastings by Von’s Beverages.
Participants will have an opportunity to bid on a number of raffle items including a golf package for four at Sunnehanna Country Club and the opportunity to name the next wine to be offered at B&L Wine Cellars.
“We’re hoping to bring the West Hills community together to do fun and exciting events that support a good cause,” said Cyndi Crespo, an event organizer.
The group was formed this year as a way to unite the communities of Westmont and Southmont boroughs and Upper Yoder Township.
The team has been working to promote and generate community activities, intergenerational events, volunteerism, education and overall growth.
In addition, the team has partnered with West Hills Recreation Commission and Community Foundation for the Alleghenies, and is in the process of reaching out to other community partners, such as businesses and local governments, to help with its mission.
“We want to pull together and help each other out,” Crespo said.
Proceeds from the event will be used to fund a variety of community events and needs including the Summer in the Streets celebration that will be held in June to commemorate the 121st anniversary of the Inclined Plane.
Tickets are $25 per person, and all attendees will receive a complimentary wine glass.
Appetizers will be served throughout the evening.
Sponsorship opportunities are available.
Tickets are limited and should be ordered in advance by calling 255-8943 or 255-6981 or visiting www.westhillsct.com.
