The Greater Johnstown/Cambria County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up to celebrate another year of achievement.
The chamber’s annual dinner, a way to thank members for their continued support, will be held March 27 at the Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center in downtown Johnstown.
A reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30.
“The event is a networking opportunity for our members and a way to promote the chamber and recognize our volunteer leadership,” said the local chamber president, Bob Layo.
This year’s guest speaker will be Scott Rasmussen, president of the Rasmussen Media Group, a digital media firm with the mission of refining, enlarging and empowering the voice of mainstream America.
Rasmussen serves as a political analyst, author, public speaker and columnist for Creators Syndicate.
In his earlier professional life he co-founded the sports network ESPN.
A Chamber Year in Review presentation will show how membership dollars are being used.
In addition, the Cultural Affairs Award will be presented to Somerset Trust Co. The award honors corporations, organizations or individuals who have fostered business/art partnerships or who have rendered creative and/or innovative support of the arts in the community.
Layo said the dinner is well-attended and typically attracts 350 to 400 people.
“We’re hoping for a big turnout this year,” he said.
Reservations are required by March 21. Register online at www.chamberlogin.com.
Tickets are $55 per person, and sponsorships are available.
