Local News in Brief | Senior center bus crash claims second victim

INDIANA — A second woman has died from injuries sustained Sept. 4 in a Cambria-based senior center’s bus crash in Indiana.

Kathryn Reeger, 79, of Shelocta, died at home Friday, apparently due to injuries sustained in this month’s crash, Indiana Chief Deputy Coroner Jerry Overman said.

The coroner is awaiting autopsy results to determine the official cause and manner of death. The Indiana County woman was initially treated at Memorial Medical Center for multiple injuries, state police reported earlier in the month.

The crash itself, which also claimed the life of a Homer City woman, allegedly occurred after the driver of the bus ran a red light in White Township, colliding with a car, according to police.

The accident remains under investigation by state police.

Ebensburg-based SeniorLife is cooperating with the investigation, a company spokesman said earlier this month.
