$250,000 lottery ticket sold in Altoona

MIDDLETOWN — An Altoona pharmacy recently sold a lottery ticket worth $250,000.

Thompson’s Pharmacy, 2329 Broad Ave., in Altoona, sold the lucky Mega Millions ticket from Friday’s drawing. It correctly matched all five white balls, 05-20-45-48-56, but not the yellow Mega Ball 01, for a prize of $250,000, less 25 percent federal withholding.

The store will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Lottery officials cannot confirm the identity of the winner until the prize is claimed and the ticket is validated. Pennsylvania Lottery Mega Millions winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.
