BOSWELL — A Boswell man died Tuesday after his vehicle slammed into the back of a disabled truck in Jenner Township, state police in Somerset said.

Troopers said William D. Taylor, 47, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier west on state Route 30 when for unknown reasons the car veered off the road and slammed into a 2010 Mack Granite tri-axle truck that

was legally parked on the shoulder.

The crash happened around 1 p.m. less than one mile from the state Route 219 interchange, troopers said.

Firefighters extricated Taylor from the vehicle.

He was airlifted to Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, where he died, troopers said.

Cambria County First Deputy Coroner Pete Long said an autopsy is scheduled for today.

The driver of the other truck, Ralph Wood, 49, of Alexandria, was not injured, troopers said.

State police continue to investigate the crash.
