PennDOT auctioning equipment

HARRISBURG — Have you ever wanted your own snow plow, excavator, backhoe or dump truck?

PennDOT is auctioning its used equipment in an online sale ending at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

“In these tougher economic times, the ability to purchase heavy equipment through an auction is an economic benefit,” Department of General Services Secretary Sheri Phillips said. “This is an excellent opportunity for any member of the public to find a quality piece of heavy equipment that fits their needs for a good price.”

There are 161 items up for bid, including snow plows, anti-icing trucks, motor graders, excavators, wheel and backhoe loaders, asphalt equipment, dump trucks, spreaders, skid steers and generators.

More information is available on the website: by typing “47434A - PennDOT.” Registration is required to bid.
