Ex-church, school official in Somerset County denies foot charges

SOMERSET — A former Somerset County school board member and church official must stand trial before a jury on charges he had inappropriate contact involving a foot fetish with at least three boys at his church and other locations since 2007.

Brian Eppley, 57, of Davidsville, pleaded not guilty Monday in Somerset County Court, where prosecutors opposed his request for a nonjury trial, accoding to the Daily American.

Police say Eppley was a Conemaugh Township school board member and deacon at the Maple Spring Church of the Brethren in Jerome when he had contact with the boys more than 75 times. He’s since resigned from both positions.

Investigators say Eppley, of Davidsville, would have the boys but their bare feet in Eppley’s face or in his lap, and that Eppley would also trace their feet.
