Area skaters sharpen up for national event

(Continued)

JOHNSTOWN —

Showcase scheduled

Before leaving for the State Games of America competition, the skaters will showcase their works to a local audience at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Planet Ice, 195 Jari Drive in Richland Township.

“We are going to do an exhibition, a summer spotlight,” coach Jan St. Clair said. “It will be a sendoff to highlight the competitors as well as those who aren’t able to go to the State Games to compete.”

Tickets for the showcase can be bought in advance for $3 or at the door on the day of the event for $5. Community support is encouraged, St. Clair said.
