Which local areas are going to get hit hardest by snow

JOHNSTOWN — U.S. Routes 422 and 22 will likely be dividing lines for the snowstorm that is about to hit the region.

According to AccuWeather senior meteorologist Tom Kines, areas north of the east-west highways, which bisect Cambria County, should expect to see significantly less snow than those to the south.

“There’s going to be a pretty sharp cutoff from where there is an accumulation to where there is none,” Kines said.

Johnstown is expected to receive 4-6 inches of snow.

As much as a foot could fall in Bedford and Somerset counties near the Maryland border.

Kines excepts the storm to begin around midnight or a little later and continue through the morning hours. Only flurries should remain later in the day.
