Police continue probe into Moxham shooting

JOHNSTOWN — Johnstown police continue to investigate a Saturday shooting in the city’s Moxham neighborhood that left two people injured.

Police said both people – one described as a home intruder – remained at Memorial Medical Center on Sunday with gunshot wounds.

Investigators previously said one man was in critical condition as of Saturday night, while a second man was being treated for a gunshot to the knee.

“Right now, detectives are still working on the case, still collecting evidence,” said Sgt. Pat Goggin.

Goggin said he could not offer further details into what happened inside the home Saturday because he did not want to risk jeopardizing the case.

The shooting occurred at approximately 5:53 p.m. Saturday on the 700 block of Highland Avenue.

Goggin urged anyone who may have information on the incident to call the non-emergency number at the 911 dispatch center, 472-2100.

Saturday’s shooting in Moxham is the community’s second in three weeks.

Shahliek Maxwell Greene, 19, of Johnstown, is accused of gunning down 29-year-old Cypress Avenue resident Joshua Price inside his home Feb. 6.

Police said the shooting occurred over an argument about a vehicle.

Three days later in another incident, police found drugs after reporting to a call regarding shots fired in the Cypress Avenue and Frederick Street area.

Police found approximately $1,000 in heroin at the scene.
