Bank robbery suspect indicted

— A Somerset County man has been indicted for his role in three Pennsylvania bank robberies, including a Cambria County location.

A federal grand jury in Williamsport on Friday handed down a five-count indictment against Corbin Jay Will, 40, of Garrett.

The grand jury charged Corbin with robbing and conspiring to rob First National Bank in Loganton, Clinton County; an M&T Bank branch in Tyrone; and 1st Summit Bank in Salix using a weapon, U.S. Attorney Peter J. Smith said.

The indictment alleges that Will and 24-year-old Nichole Lynn Durst of Meyersdale conspired to rob the three banks between

May 3 and May 31, 2012.

Durst pleaded guilty to robbery and conspiracy charges on April 12 before U.S. District Judge Matthew Brann and is awaiting sentencing. Will is in custody on bank robbery charges in West Virgina and Maryland.

At his district court apparence before Judge Rick Varner of Salix in

June 2012, Will denied the Salix robbery.

“I’ve never been in any bank around here,” he said.

Will and Durst were accused of making off with $1,300 from 1st Summit Bank.

Authorities said at the time that Will and Durst shared a drug addiction and had planned to marry.

If found guilty, Will faces up to 90 years in prison, five years supervised release and a maximum fine of $1.25 million, Smith said.

Will also was charged with robbing four banks in Fayette County from Aug. 31 to Nov. 6, 2000.
