Alcohol focus of Penn State cheerleader’s fall

Associated Press

STATE COLLEGE — Police have gotten a search warrant to determine whether a Penn State cheerleader was drinking at a party before she fell five stories out of an off-campus apartment building last month.

Nineteen-year-old Paige Raque, of Louisville, has been released from intensive care but is still being treated at Altoona Regional Health System in Pennsylvania.

Raque broke her pelvis and suffered brain trauma in the Oct. 13 fall during a party, and WJAC-TV in Johnstown (http://bit.ly/RD8kCs ) reports a State College police search warrant shows investigators want to know her blood-alcohol content based on hospital tests that night.

The station says the warrant also shows that police have interviews and other evidence that alcohol was being served to minors at the party, and that police are attempting to determine who was responsible.
