Ivadene E. Dhority

DHORITY – Ivadene E. “Dene,” 78, Parsons, Tenn., formerly of Geistown, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009, at her home in Parsons. Born March 9, 1931, in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late Alice Harbaugh Fisher and LeRoy Fisher.  She was preceded in death by her parents. Ivadene was a 1949 graduate of Richland High School and a 1953 graduate of California State Teachers College. Teaching was her passion and she left her mark on many students over her long distinguished career.  Even though she had retired from the mainstream classroom many years ago, Ivadene continued to teach right up until her passing.  She worked as an adult educator and GED instructor in Decatur County, Tenn. Surviving her are her husband of 51 years, Oscar Dhority, and her daughter, Tamela Dhority. Ivadene was buried with her parents in Richland Cemetery on Monday June 22, 2009.
