— TURNEY – Verna May, 74, Berlin, died July 10, 2009, at Somerset Hospital. Born July 13, 1934, in Ralphton, daughter of James and Violet (Pugh) Turney. Preceded in death by parents; grandson, Jeremy Turney, son-in-law, Kevin Sechler; sisters, Edna Turney, Ethel Lohr and Patricia Turney; and brother, J. Robert Turney. Survived by daughter, Bonnie, married to Roger Nunamaker; grandchildren, Jessica, married to Matthew Glessner, Eric Sechler and Elissa Nunamaker; and great-grandchildren, Brady and Addisyn Glessner, all of Berlin. Sister of Sara Leventry, Stoystown; Charles “Jughead,” Boswell; Violet Benford, Rockwood; and John, and wife, Eva, Bradenville. Employee of the former Dorfman & Hoffman Garment Factory, Boswell, and Fleetwood Folding Trailers, Somerset. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell, with Pastor Tim Resh presiding. Interment of ashes at IOOF Cemetery, Stoystown, will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Verna may be sent to ALS Association by calling (888) 949-2577.
