Janet Maree (Trimble) Planinsek

PLANINSEK – Janet Maree (Trimble), 92, Youngstown, died Friday, July 10, 2009, at Loyalhanna Care Center. Born Feb. 11, 1917, in Lockport, daughter of the late James D. and Martha (Fulcomer) Trimble. Janet was a member of St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, Youngstown. She was a graduate of Clarion University. She was a retired school teacher for the Greater Latrobe School District, having taught for over 30 years. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Association of Latrobe and the Pennsylvania State Education Association for retired teachers. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis V. Planinsek, on Sept. 20, 1993; two brothers, James W. and Frederick R. Trimble; one sister, Claire M. (Trimble) Donahue; and one nephew, Harry R. Trimble. Janet is survived by two nephews, James F. Trimble, and his wife, Nancy, New Florence, and William R. Trimble, and his wife, Letitia, Pflugerville, Texas; one niece, Bonnie L. Trimble, New Florence; and five sisters-in-law, Betty Trimble, New Florence; Rose Planinsek, Latrobe; Josephine Olzak, Latrobe; Genevieve Planinsek, Latrobe; and Janet Jackman Planinsek, Latrobe. She also is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Family and friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at John J. Lopatich Funeral Home Inc., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. David P. vonSchlichten officiating. Interment will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4329 State Route 982, Box 356, Youngstown, Pa. 15696.
