IRVIN – Philip D., 61, Johnstown, died Nov. 9, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center. Born June 15, 1948, in Johnstown, son of the late Alice Irvin. Survived by wife, the former Patricia A. Slippy, Johnstown; and son, Philip J. Irvin, Pittsburgh. Also survived by aunt and uncle, Ruth and James Schellhammer, Johnstown; aunt, Betty Irvin, Johnstown; brothers-in-law, Don, and wife, Linda Slippy, Redding, Calif.; and Richard, and wife, Yvonne Slippy, Johnstown; and sister-in-law, Edna Slippy. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Philip was a supervisor at Sani-Dairy and Mayfair Creamery in Somerset. Retired from Schreiber Cheese Co., Shippensburg. A U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam War and member of Third Brethren Church, Clan Irwin Association and Laurel Highlands Scottish Society. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. Friends received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hindman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 146 Chandler Ave., the Rev. Ray Grumbling, officiating.
