CRUM – Mary B. “Muffie,” 89, Elton, went home to the Father Nov. 9, 2009, at her residence. Born Nov. 27, 1919, in Dunlo, daughter of the late John and Mary (Marion) Guba. Preceded in death by loving husband, Harvey; and sisters, Anna “Ink” Guba; Eleanore, wife of the late Richard Janik; Margaret, wife of the late Joseph Seese; Alice, wife of the late Robert Pellissier; and Evelyn, wife of Wade Foltz. She was a loving mother to her nieces, Beverly and Daphne Janik, both of Johnstown. Also survived by sisters, Agnes, wife of the late Howard Gindlesperger, Elton; Helen, wife of the late Anthony Zuvella, Scottsdale, Ariz.; Veronica, wife of the late Nicholas Grassa, Elton; Joanne, wife of Owen Hoffman, Johnstown; and Dorothy, wife of the late Louis Zjac, Cleveland, Ohio. Member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Dunlo. Muffie had a special place in the hearts of family and friends. She was always there to help in any way she could, whether it was babysitting numerous nieces and nephews or providing a home to someone who needed help. She loved hunting, fishing and camping with her husband and dogs. Mary was an avid animal lover, who always had dogs. Her most recent was her beloved Bichon, Belle, who provided companionship and unconditional love. She will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Henderson-Makuchan Funeral Home, 434 First St., Conemaugh, where vigil will be held at 6 p.m. Prayer service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, Father John Francis Brezovec. Committal, SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Dunlo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Conemaugh Regional Hospice in Mary’s name.
