LYDIC – Francis “Frank,” 88, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, in St. Luke’s Hospital. Born Oct. 30, 1921, in Johnstown. Survivors include his wife, Betty L. Lydic; daughter, Jean A. Fuller (Bruce), Cedar Rapids; grandson, Calvin Paul Spinka (Nikki), Cedar Rapids; brother, Irvin Berkey (Hazel); and sister, Geraldine Berkey, both of Windber; and sister, Lelia Berkey, Pittsburgh. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Roy A. Lydic; and grandson, Francis I. Spinka. He married Betty L. Miller on April 3, 1954, in Johnstown. He was a retired instructor for Kirkwood Community College, having taught occupational therapy assistance. Member of Kenwood Park United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, reading, teaching and attending Kirkwood Retirees Activities. Service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Kenwood Park United Methodist Church, the Rev. Laura Smith. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Entombment, Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
