In brief: Plane-crash victim dies

— One of the three occupants of the single-engine plane that crashed Sunday evening in Indiana County has died from his injuries.
Justin Goldinger, 26, of Dayton, Armstrong County, was pronounced dead at 3:58 p.m. Thursday in the intensive-care unit of Memorial Medical Center, said Cambria County Coroner Dennis Kwiatkowski.
He was a passenger in the rear seat of the plane, Kwiatkowski said.
The victim’s father, Mark Goldinger, also of Dayton, was the pilot. He was admitted to Memorial after the crash and discharged on Thursday.
The name and condition of the third person injured has not been made public.
Authorities said the pilot, trying to land at Indiana County-Jimmy Stewart Airport in foggy conditions, missed the approach and radioed to say he was going to try to land elsewhere. When radar couldn’t locate the plane, officials presumed it had crashed and emergency crews were dispatched to search for the wreckage.
Assault charge dropped
MEYERSDALE – Indecent assault charges against a Meyersdale man were withdrawn Thursday.
The Somerset County District Attorney’s Office withdrew charges against Marvin L. Hetz, 48, of Meyersdale, because of lack evidence.
District Attorney Jerry Spangler said charges could be refiled if additional evidence is found.
Hetz was charged in July by Summit Township police after allegations that he had fondled a minor girl at a Meyersdale home during Easter weekend.
Charges against him included aggravated incident assault and corruption of minors.
