Ebensburg man accused of assaulting boy in 2004

PORTAGE —
An Ebensburg man has been charged by Summerhill Township police with sexually assaulting a boy more than three years ago.
Robert Hummel, 68, of the 100 block of East Milton Street, is accused of assaulting the boy – who was younger than 13 at the time of the alleged incident – in June or July 2004.
The police filed charges of statutory sex assault, rape and indecent assault.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 26 before District Judge Galen Decort. Hummel is released on unsecured bond.
In other police-related news:
• George’s, an establishment at 2180 Clearfield Valley Blvd., Dysart, has been cited for a liquor-law violation.
The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement said George’s failed to notify liquor-control officials within the required 15 days of a change of managers that took effect around Aug. 31.
• A Uniontown area man has been sentenced to 30 months in prison and three years of supervised release on his conviction for possessing a fully automatic assault rifle, a silencer and four explosive devices.
Raymond C. Baker III was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Nora Barry Fischer in Pittsburgh.
On July 26, 2006, the state police responded to a trailer home park in Georges Township, where Baker held his wife hostage with a shotgun to her head, threatening to kill her.
Four hours after she escaped, Baker surrendered, federal authorities said.
A subsequent search of the home and separate rental unit uncovered a total of 51 firearms, including an unregistered machine gun.
