A Berlin woman was charged with felony assault after she allegedly tried to slice a man’s throat with a butter knife.
State police in Somerset said Jeryn Meyers was sitting at a table at Valley Community Services along White Horse Road in Berlin, doing paperwork, when Samantha Fallecker, 21, came up behind him and put a knife to his throat.
“Fallecker stated she was going to slit his throat,” Trooper Jason Zanolli said in a court document.
Police said Meyers knocked the knife from her hand and that, while Meyers held Fallecker, she punched him in the head.
Meyers suffered a cut and abrasion to the left side of his neck during the Feb. 25 incident.
Fallecker, who lives at that location, was charged with aggravated assault and harassment. She was arraigned by District Judge Arthur Cook of Somerset and released on nonmonetary bond.
A message left Thursday at Valley Community Services was not returned.
