Fire damages Nanty Glo home

The Tribune-Democrat

NANTY GLO Fire caused extensive damage to a one-story home in the 1500 block of Cardiff Road in Nanty Glo on Monday evening.

None of the five members of the Fenchak family was at home when the fire started, said Nanty Glo fire Chief Joe LaMantia Jr.

Heavy fire had struck the attached garage in the basement and the first floor when firefighters arrived, he said. Firefighters made a good attack and had the flames knocked down in 16 minutes, LaMantia said.

The fire appears to be accidental and electrical in nature, he said.

The home was insured. The family is staying nearby with relatives.

Also responding were volunteers from Revloc, Colver and Jackson Township.
