Kidnapping hearing postponed

BEDFORD — A preliminary hearing scheduled this week for Timothy Mock, the Bedford County man who prompted a multistate Amber Alert earlier this month, has been continued.

The new date is May 21 at Bedford County Central Court, Everett, a court official said Tuesday.

Mock, 20, of Schellsburg, is charged with kidnapping, burglary, unlawful restraint and related charges. Police said he took his former girlfriend, Crystal Ann Beck, from her Everett home by force.

He was apprehended a few days later in Riviera Beach, Fla.

The girl was returned home safely.
