Man accused of hiding gun waives preliminary hearing

The Tribune-Democrat

A Johnstown man will face Cambria County Court action on charges that he hid the handgun used in the murder of a city man April 27 at the Solomon Homes.

David Paul Bair, 22, of the 100 block of Meyer Avenue, waived his right to a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Leonard Grecek, Roxbury.

Bair was returned to the Cambria County Prison in lieu of bail.

Johnstown police alleged that after the man charged in the murder, Norris Collins Jr., 19, Johnstown, killed Cortez Jordan, Collins gave Bair the gun and told him to get rid of it. Bair buried the gun, along with crack cocaine taken from the crime scene, in a wooded area, police said.
