A 43-year-old borough man was arrested Wednesday afternoon for allegedly sending pornographic material to a juvenile female in Elk Lick Township.
Elk Lick police have charged David Wayne Hutchinson of Front Street with 22 counts of unlawful contact with a minor, a felony.
Police said Hutchinson was using the Internet to send nude photos and lewd videos of himself to the girl, according to a police report.
The girl’s mother told police that Hutchinson was sending her daughter obscene materials, sparking a joint investigation between township and borough police. Around 4 p.m. Wednesday, Elk Lick and Summit township police and borough police served a search warrant at his home, arresting Hutchinson and seizing his computer.
His computer and equipment – 19 items total – and computer equipment the girl had been using were sent to the state police crime lab for further analysis.
Hutchinson was arraigned before District Judge Douglas Bell in Meyersdale and sent to Somerset County Jail in lieu of $150,000 straight bond. His preliminary hearing has been set for Tuesday before Bell.
Township and borough police could not be reached for further comment, but borough police said in a press release that charges also are pending by the Meyersdale department.
