Woman charged after melee at bar

By PATRICK BUCHNOWSKI
The Tribune-Democrat

A Johnstown woman was charged with aggravated assault Friday after authorities said she attacked a bar patron with a knife, bit another on the arm and later threw a blood-soaked cloth at the doctor who was treating her.

In a court document, city detectives said Natalie Cozette Smith, also known as “Seedy,” attacked a woman with a knife outside 3 Reds Bar on Horner Street.

When Latrice Hill intervened, Smith bit her three times on the forearm, city police said. Hill was treated at Memorial Medical Center.

Lakeisha Morris, the woman Smith allegedly attacked, was cut on her chin, police said.

Morris was treated at the scene by 7th Ward Ambulance personnel.

Police said Smith was taken to the hospital, where she was being treated for lacerations to her hands when she began swinging her hands at medical staff, “causing blood to be splattered on the medical personnel.”

At one point, Smith hit a doctor with a bloody cloth while yelling obscenities, police said.

Smith, 35, of the 300 block of Hickory Street, was charged with aggravated and simple assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

She was arraigned by District Judge Max Pavlovich of Richland Township, the on-call

magistrate, and released on $10,000 unsecured bond.
