Swimsuit contest needs more contestants

The Tribune-Democrat

NANTY GLO The borough’s first Pool ‘n Pork festival slated to coincide with Thunder in the Valley events may have to cancel its swimsuit contest if more contestants do not enter.

According to event coordinator Jay Evans, only two women have registered for the June 26 kickoff event, which benefits the Nanty Glo Park & Pool.

Women 18 and older are invited to don their favorite swimsuit and compete before a panel of local celebrity judges to win more than $500 in cash and prizes, including a beauty makeover.

“We need to get more contestants,’’ Evans said. “We will have to cancel if we only have two girls.’’

Contestants can register in person at Cuts-n-Stuff, 270 Farfield Ave. in Johnstown, or Fashion Bug at the Wal-Mart plaza in Ebensburg. To register by phone, call Evans: 659-2396.
