A Johnstown man was jailed Tuesday in connection with an assault in a bar last month that sent another man to the hospital for more than 100 stitches.
Ramar Damone Williams, 28, of Coopersdale Homes, was charged with aggravated and simple assault and reckless endangerment.
In a court document, city police said Jason Goldberg was relaxing with friends at the Fairfield Avenue Lounge on June 10, drinking a rum and cola, when Williams walked up, grabbed the glass and smashed it in Goldberg’s face.
Goldberg was taken to Memorial Medical Center with a deep cut in his eyebrow and received more than 100 stitches.
He also had a chipped tooth, police said.
Witnesses identified Williams as the assailant. It’s not clear what caused the incident.
Williams was picked up Tuesday on North Sheridan Street.
He was arraigned by District Judge Max Pavlovich of Richland Township, the on-call magistrate, and sent to the Cambria County Prison after failing to post $7,500 bond.
