SOMERSET —
A Somerset man was jailed after he allegedly burglarized a law office and later attempted to get inside the women’s restroom at Somerset Hospital, authorities said on Friday.
Somerset police said they were called to Somerset ER on June 26 where Jeffrey Aaron Flower, 29, reportedly attempted two times to get inside the women’s restroom. When he was asked to leave, Flower walked to the parking lot attempting to get into unlocked vehicles.
Police said Flower also was seen walking in public with his pants down.
Flower was taken into custody at the Somerset post office where he appeared lethargic and was chewing on pills, police said.
He was taken to the police station where he was found to have stolen checks, two door hinge pins and a 1922 silver dollar.
Police believe Flower obtained the items from a law office in the 100 block of East Union Street that reportedly was burglarized.
A window on the east side of the building had been smashed out and a door to the upstairs offices had been broken into and the door hinges removed.
Flowers was charged before District Judge Arthur Cook of Somerset with burglary, criminal trespass, forgery, theft, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct,
public drunkenness and similar misconduct.
Flower was sent to the Somerset County Jail to await a preliminary hearing, police said.
