The Tribune-Democrat

HOLLIDAYSBURG State police are investigating an incident in which an off-duty, part-time police officer was injured in a confrontation at a party at the residence of Attorney Thomas Dickey, a well-known defense lawyer.

The party followed a golfing outing hosted for the last three years by Dickey. It was attended by lawyers and law-enforcement officers from Blair and Cambria counties, two Cambria County judges and others.

The injured officer, whose is from Blair County, reportedly was hit with a beer bottle by another party-goer around 8:30 p.m. July 16, near Hollidaysburg.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for treatment.

Cambria Judges Gerard Long and F. Joseph Leahey, who had played golf, had left prior to the confrontation, it was learned.
