While at The Tribune-Democrat: Dawn and Tina visited The Tribune-Democrat on Wednesday. They joined editors and the publisher in planning story placement for the next day’s edition, and advance planning for the weekend editions. A front-page package was planned on Gov. Ed Rendell’s announcement of funding for a nursing school at Pitt-Johnstown and other local projects, and they agreed that it was an important story and deserved prominent play. They also liked a picture by staff photographer Dave Lloyd featuring two young boys and a puppy. “I don’t particularly like dogs, but that picture is so cute,” Dawn said. The picture appeared Friday on Page A4.
Quote: “So much more goes into (producing a newspaper) than you would ever imagine,” Tina said. “It really is fascinating.”
