4-H’ers earn prizes for livestock

EBENSBURG — The 4-H livestock sale Thursday was the high point of the Cambria County Fair for many youngsters who worked all year raising their animals and then reaped the benefits at the auction.

A total of 193 animals were shown and then sold to the highest bidder.

These were the top prize-winners:

In the market hogs category, Ben Bard of Portage had the grand champion and Levi Niebauer of Carrolltown had the reserve champion. Niebauer also had the grand champion lamb.

For rabbits, Olivia Mullen of Ebensburg showed her grand champion and Earl Springer II of Nanty Glo had the reserve grand champion.

In the lamb category, Alexis Niebauer of Carrolltown showed the reserve grand champion heavyweight.

For goats, Dawn Craft of Mineral Point had the grand champion heavyweight and Cassidy Keilman of Johnstown had the reserve grand champion.

The grand and reserve champions were shown by Micah and Ian Primel of Mineral Point.

For steers, Ben Bard of Portage showed the grand champion, and Dawn Craft of Mineral Point had the reserve champion.

The top dairy beef prize went to Johanna Pisarczyk of Sidman for the grand champion, and the reserve grand champion was shown by Levi Niebauer of Carrolltown.
