NEW – Creekside fatality caused by medical condition

The Tribune-Democrat

INDIANA Indiana County Coroner Michael Baker has ruled that a motorist involved in a wreck Thursday morning near Creekside died as a result of medical problems and not traumatic injury.

The victim, Robert J. Hockenberry, 53, of Rayne Township, also had a blood-alcohol level of .12, the coroner said. An autopsy and toxicology tests were performed Thursday.

Baker said that alcohol likely was the cause of the accident as well the cause of the death, with the interaction of the alcohol and the stress of the accident on the man’s chronic medical condition.
