NEW – Cambria County out of tickets for Sarah Palin appearance

By Mike Faher
The Tribune-Democrat

JOHNSTOWN There are no more tickets available in Johnstown for Saturday’s appearance by Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, officials said today.

However, officials at Cambria County Republican Committee headquarters, 636 Main St., said they are taking names for a waiting list.

There are some tickets available in surrounding counties, and it is possible that some of those tickets may become available in Johnstown.

“We’ve gone through all of ours,” said Ann Wilson, the county GOP committee’s executive director.

“But we’re going to do our best to accommodate requests for tickets.”

Those on the waiting list will have top priority, Wilson said.

Tickets for the 9 a.m. Saturday event at Cambria County War Memorial Arena are free but are required for admittance.

Wilson said about 4,700 tickets already have been distributed in Johnstown.

Also today, the McCain campaign put out word that those attending the political rally should arrive as early as 7 a.m. to “avoid long lines at the security checkpoint.”
