NEW: Man faces trial in beating death

By Sandra K. Reabuck
The Tribune-Democrat

A Jackson Township man faces trial in Cambria County Court on first-degree murder and related charges in the beating death of a city man in August.

District Judge Leonard Grecek bound over to county court the charges against 19-year-old Daniel William Manculich at a preliminary hearing today.

Manculich is charged by city police with beating Richard Lanzty with a blunt object an undetermined number of times following an argument Aug. 10 at Lantzy’s Southmont Boulevard home.

The critically wounded Lantzy was found early the next morning by a cousin. The victim died 11 days later on Aug. 11 at Memorial Medical Center after life-support systems were discontinued.
