In brief: Somerset woman dies in crash
SOMERSET
The Tribune-Democrat
A Somerset woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident around 5 a.m. Monday on Route 31, one-half mile east of White Horse Road in Allegheny Township.
She was identified as Patricia Sarver, 72.
Somerset County Coroner Wallace Miller said a medical problem could possibly have caused the accident. He said an autopsy was scheduled for today to determine the cause of death.
Police said Sarver was traveling east when her van went off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail. The van then crossed both lanes and went up an embankment. The van then re-entered the roadway, traveled across both lanes and struck the guardrail, the report said. The car then went over the guardrail and flipped over several times before coming to rest on its roof, about 100 feet over an embankment, the report said.
