In brief: Parent training set

Greater Johnstown School District has set training dates for parents of students, including those enrolled in special education.

“Understanding the IEP” will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at East Side Elementary.

“Testing Procedures for Children” will be held at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 21 at West Side Elementary.

“Curriculum For All Ages” will be held at 9:30 a.m. March 25 at East Side Elementary.

Guests are to report and register at the building’s main office. Child care will be available and refreshments will be served.

Restaurant burglarized

Someone broke into Hong Kong Buffet, 1206 Scalp Ave., late Sunday or early Monday and took an undisclosed amount of cash, Richland Township police said.

The rear door was forced open to gain entry, police said.

The empty money tray was found outside near the trash container.
