NEW Cambria taxes will remain same in 2010

THE TRIBUNE-DEMOCRAT

EBENSBURG - The Cambria County commissioners announced today that the county’s property tax will remain unchanged in 2010, although more of the revenue will be going for general use.

Cambria’s property tax totals 26.9 mills, with each mill producing about $1.1 million in revenues for the county coffers.

The 2010 budget is down slightly from this year, mainly due to tighter budget controls and with a reduced debt payment by paying off a 2008 loan early. The proposed budget is about $141 million, down $9 million. It’s scheduled for adoption Dec. 18.
